Discount Adult Zone is a new music project from Xray Dubs. It's a house/disco style project around the 120bpm tempo.

This is a piece still in development (really there is 16 bars of this, I've arranged it into a simple build up/down sequence). It's extremely cliched gaybar disco electro which really needs some sort of double-entendre bondage lyric sung very well by a proper divo/diva -- but I think its a guaranteed dance floor filler in every disco in the country. These last two tracks are exactly the sort of thing that Discount Adult Zone is trying to be - sparkly disco contrasted with stark acid/house and a big serving of sadomasochism. In red glitter high heels and a black rubber strap on.

Just to celebrate the completion of my Master's thesis (I got a HD). That's why musically I've been so dormant this year. This is a half-finished track called "Bango Bingo" for no other reason that I tried to copy the tom-tom rhythm from a classic Chicago acid track called "Bango Acid" and it's also got a super-obvious sample in it which you'll hear at the start.

Even though I've got a whole bunch of Discount Adult Zone tracks in a half-prepared state, and I am in the middle of doing my master's thesis (and no time for making music), this weekend I took some time off to make an entirely new Discount Adult Zone track. Rather than leaving it in a half-finished state on my hard disk waiting for the day at the end of the year when I can finish it off, I decided to take a rough cut and put it up on the blog. Especially seeing there's been no new music practically all year. Discount Adult zone - Tear "U" Apart ... enjoy.

Discount Adult Zone is a new music project from Xray Dubs. It's a house/disco style project around the 120bpm tempo. The name comes from a certain shop Dennis and I spotted on the highway up to Toowoomba. Lookout for the track "Withcott Swingers" sometime soon.

I've got a bunch of Discount Adult Zone tracks in a half-prepared state, this is the latest one I made over Xmas/NY period - in fact I wrote it all today. It's called "King of the Goats", boomy and stompy and stroppy and priapic like an old billy goat. It just sort of seemed to write itself really.
