My friend Ben Askins, aka Genlevel, asked if he could do a remix of a Victor Xray track a few months ago. Me, being such a slack bastard at times, didn't get my shit together to send him the remix package until a couple of weeks ago. Not that it should have been very difficult as we both use Ableton Live 7.0 so everything we had was compatible save a plugin or two. Anyway my slackness all gone, Ben turned out a top track in record time and here we offer the result for download.

The original track is "Dub Wrong Babylon", and it is contained in the 2008 album/download bundle "Lamplighter", which can be downloaded from here.

Victor Xray back in action. Three months of face-down bum-up in history books only does so much for your weekends. Anyway Victor Xray is back ready for action over summer and this one's the first off the rank. A track I've had sitting there half finished for six months. Anyway a couple of days effort throwing away most of what I'd done before put paid to that one. The track is called Testimony. The strings a quite nice but it's the simple groove of the bassline that's the part that lifts the track. Lots of nice space in the middle of the track. Right. We shall start.

Please note: I've started to rename the files for the old tracks because the server is getting slayed from various servers robo-leeching the mp3s (and for the past year they've all been 320s!). If you want one of the other tracks please try to manually substitute 'VX-' in front of the existing file name (e.g. 'TransmissionNocturne.mp3' becomes 'VX-TransmissionNocturne.mp3') otherwise please email me - victor dot xray at gmail dot com - and let me know what track you want and I will send you the new link.

UPDATE: FIXED THE PIANO INTRO. SAME FILE DETAILS (old one deleted).

This track I've had for a couple of months but being busy elsewhere I've not had the chance to develop it. Here's the first cut of the track, "Transmission Nocturne". It's got a nearly one minute piano introduction on it - quite muted and melancholy - but never mind that because I think the rest of the track is really quite nice. It's nearly 7 minutes long (the introduction sees to that) - so be warned that at 320kbps mp3 encode rate it is 16Mb in size.

A very laid-back mellow dub for this evening it's in a Major key (F major with a big FMaj7 chord underpinning it) so it has a breezy feeling. Might do a harder/housier version if I get the time later this week.
