      yes, true a room in a room is the way...and its different types of substances that slows sound, not just one thick layer...and layers of air...&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
this was best displayed when i went to the annechoic chamber in east lindfield in sydney many years ago... what a head fuck... it was a massive concrete cube that had been built suspended in subsequent concrete cubes and mounted on massive springs and rubber mounts supporting hundreds of tonnes of concrete.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
so cool. the ultimate recording studio. or insanity room.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
it was so dead quiet in there all i could hear was the blood running in capillaries in my ears. the only decent thing to do in there was to fucking scream.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
so there really is no such thing as silence.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
