Victor Xray - River Of Dub

320 kbps MP3

River of Dub is a pretty rough mix but within about five minutes of creating the basic beats last week I knew I already liked it. Being in a bit of a lazy mood this past fortnight I haven't finished it entirely, it's a bit of a rough mix at present with very little effects and shit - but still I reckon it's got a great bounce and energy already. Stay tuned next week for a more finessed mix but in the meantime enjoy this mix.

Severed Heads R.I.P

Tom kills Severed Heads after 18 years

Via Dennis Remmer of Transcom:
Tom Ellard of Severed Heads has announced his retirement (of Severed Heads, but not his ongoing projects) after 30 years. See http://www.sevcom.com and http://sevcom.com/beta/

The band is a keystone to post-punk electronic music development. Crucial. We were very fortunate to host their last ever live performance here in Brisbane, last October at the Upgrade @ Next Level event.

From where I sit it has been a pleasure to be at the receiving end of *so* much (30 years - unbelievable) creative, intellectual, thoughtful, incisive, evolutionary (and fun) electronic music, video, performance, and media. I count my most influential music artisans with one hand, and Sevs sit on the biggest cushion.

Force In Numbers

The weekend's track

This track's called Force In Numbers. It's a rough mix ... got to fix up the drums and bass arrangement. I wasn't feeling all the best to finish it off so here's the version that I got so far.
