Now:Zero, Live To Air, JJJ Mix Up 1994 (mp3)

Live set of old school mid-Nineties trance music.

A 35 minute live to air from the national Australian FM radio station, JJJ. This was recorded on cassette at the time by Leon Austin and supplied to me burnt on CD. The recording contains many artifacts of both cassette deterioration, off-air recording, and live performance. Some light editing of small sections of extreme deterioration was carried out.

Many thanks to Leon Austin for this blast from the past!

As I remarked in email to Leon after he sent it to me;

it's the completely overblown trance set !!! geez we were stoned when we did that set, had to hang around the jjj building for like an hour after we set up before the set, we went out the back and toked up, it really comes out in the set ... a treatise on evil ... every track 8 minutes long i bet ... mc202 sequences with big string pads and detuned 5ths ... slightly embarrassing now ;-)

Warning: large file size. Download MP3

at Horse Bazaar on Thursday (Melbourne)

Clan Analogue return to invert dub at Horse Bazaar

After sending subsonic reverberations echoing throughout
Fitzroy at the warehouse party launch for the In Version:
Dub Selections compilation, the Clan Analogue crew are
bringing their dub grooves to the city for Inverted
dub, an intimate club night at Horse Bazaar on Thursday
the 23rd of March.

Inverted dub will include live performances from Boy Ronin
and Fly By Wire, mixing pulsating dub sounds and tones
transmitted with technologies old and new. DJs figital
and winduptoy intersperse the live sets with selected
classics from the heart of Jamaica through to the modern
Australian dub sound. Visuals are projected courtesy of
the Clan Analogue 70s Jamaican film library.

Sonic death monkey Boy Ronin has been tossed to earth from
a mountaintop to play his debut live set, sure to include
his In Version hit 'Dub Not Dub' amongst other frequencies
and basslines.

Deservedly acclaimed as one of Melbourne's most innovative
up and coming producers, Fly By Wire's mix of spacious
synthesized textures and melodic live instrumentation has
lead to multi-media collaborations, sound installations
and gigs in clubs, pubs and warehouses throughout town.

Inverted will host the final set from DJ figital's current
Australian tour, playing a selection of old school dub.
Hailing from Toronto, Canada, figital has been working in
Melbourne with local producers but his hometown beckons.
Catch him now before the plane takes off

DJ winduptoy previews some rare mixes of material from the
forthcoming winduptoys album Double Exposure, along with
dub-influenced electronic sounds from the Clan Analogue
vaults.

Inverted takes place at Horse Bazaar, 397 Little Lonsdale St
in the city, on Thursday the 23rd of March from 9pm onwards.
Entry is free.

Clan Analogue In Version: Dub Selections is out now through
Creative Vibes.
