Thanks for asking - really depends where I'm drinking it, however some favourites include:

Staropramen - nice Czech lager, often consumed when at the Salusbury in Queens Park usually

Reschs Dinner Ale - the king of all dinner ales, perfect accompaniment to the veggie burgers at Burgerman in Kings Cross.

Tennants - much consumed last weekend in Inverness, drunk more for the funky cans Scottish origin than the taste really.

Guinness - on occasion, in particular when eating oysters at the Cow in Notting Hill.

Tiger - awesome with the veggie Laksa at Happy Chef in the Sussex Street Food Court.

Crown Lager - perfect for consumption at any quality rural wedding, racing carnival or in the backseat of a Holden Statesman.

And yourself?

Adding to this list I would say;
  • Tooheys New - grand final day BBQs and footy matches generally (acceptable substitute; Victoria Bitter).
  • Melbourne Bitter - Saturday arvo picnics around Sydney Harbour.

Czech beer

Zlatopramen is also pretty good. I also like the dark "billy goat" (Kozel).

Go to the Czech beer cafe "Doma" in Kings X next time you're in Sydney (it's at the end of Llankelly Place down near Orwell St). Great selection of Czech, Hungarian, etc beers. And various sausages and a great roast duck dish and so on - also vegetarian items on the menu.

All good on a sunny Sydney winter afternoon sitting in the sun with Roast Duck or Beef in creamy vegetable sauce.

Little Creatures Pale Ale, anything from the Malt Shovel Brewery (James Squire Amber Ale, Pilsner, India Pale Ale, Porter) the Cascade Stout...Wig & Pen Pass Porter, Mr Natural, Russian Imperial Stout, Velvet Cream Stout, Bock, Bitter, Pilsner, IPA,...The Leffes are good too, Blonde with mussels, Brun with beef bourguignon, and the tricky Rouge...and how good were those Black Isle beers...and the Adnams, Hobgoblin, Spitfire, Champion, Fursty Ferret, 70, 80, Tennants...the Deuchars IPA, London Pride, or a tonne of other ales and bitters...I still don't mind a Guinness or Speckled Hen either...and the Boags Strongarm Bitter...Coopers Pale Ale, Sparkling Ale, Stout...and what's wrong with a refreshing Heinekin or Becks or Stella...Corona...Kingfisher or Cobra and a curry...Refreshing Asahi or two on a long JAL leg...of course I've put away my fair share of VB and Tooheys Dry...hmmmmmmmmmm

Beer Paradigm Shift Maybe it's that the weather has just shifted and its started getting really cold. Or maybe the lack of sunlight and pollution here have started to rot my brain, but finally after three years living in London I've actually started enjoying English Ales... I noticed the transformation the other day when I walked in to a pub and without any hestitation ordered a London Pride when there were in fact a number of perfectly legitimate lager alternatives also on tap. And then I drank the whole thing, and enjoyed it. And after drinking a few of them I also realised that English Ales tend to be between 50p - £1 cheaper per pint, which amounts to quite a reasonable cost saving when you are buying in bulk (who doesn't in London pubs). Well, that's my story, it may not be exceptional, but it's the only one I've got...
