This great site yooouuutuuube.com does a video wall of any you tube video that you input into it. Here's the Victor Xray 'Lamplighter' video run through it; particularly effective because of the use of the horizontal wipe I think. My friend Charlotte mentioned on Facebook that she's building a "soundproof studio" in her garage and was curious as to how it would work. At least one commenter mentioned the fabled "egg cartons" solution (I hope in jest) but I knew this is nowhere near good enough. Egg cartons and acoustic foam on the walls will not soundproof anything. Acoustic foam is for sound treatment INSIDE the room. To build a "sound proof" studio you need a floating room.

After nearly two years of questing through the audio underworld, wrestling crocodile-headed samplers and taming fire-breathing speaker stacks, Spoonbill has returned to the earth's surface, ready to address his ecstatic followers. His message: Zoomorphic, a shapeshifting sonic celebration of Spoonbillism. Zoomorphic is set to earn Australia's most unique aural oracle thousands of fresh converts across the globe. Zoomorphic is the third album by electronic musician Spoonbill (aka Jim Moynihan), following the critically acclaimed Megafauna (2005) and Nestegg (2007). This time around, Spoonbill's anarchic, quirk-funk, glitched-up aesthetic has been forensically finessed like never before, sculpted to a well-bodied medley of groove-based sound art. This one is called 'Get It Now (Bad Boy)'. I've had the basic drum/bass riddum sitting in Live for a few months, got around to finishin off the arrangement this weekend. Lisa says it sounds like some guy trying to herd some alien bugs and rustle 'em up on board some sort of ark ... maybe that means it has some sort of old testament cowboy dubstep feel?! I'm not gonna say where the vocal sample comes from. RIAA come get me if you can work it out. Say It! Come on girl, come on! Get it now, get it!
